The EU Commission has proposed the "EU KIDS Act". Children under 13 would not be allowed on social media at all. 13- and 14-year-olds could only use "mini accounts" through their parents, limited to one hour of screen time a day. From 15, teens could open their own accounts. Platforms would also have to be "safe by design". That means addictive features like endless scrolling would have to go. The rules would cover social media, video apps, online games and AI chatbots. It's still only a proposal. The EU Parliament and member states have to agree first. For the first time, world leaders at the UN have agreed on a declaration about rising sea levels. Low-lying countries will stay sovereign states even if the sea swallows their land. For many small island nations, that is a big relief. Their country, their seat at the UN and their rights stay theirs, no matter what happens to the coastline.
