I stay on your way, Far away from where you would rather be, And only get a slight moment of joy, A rushed touch, as you move on to better things When will I ever get your warmth for more than a second? I cry and cry, But no one is here to listen. I pray and pray, Is there anyone up there? Can anyone see and wipe my tears? When will I know the joy that I see on everyone's face? When they hold hands and move step in step across the road. The joy on the kids' faces as they play in the park The joy in the voice of the birds as they sing, Chirping away all their troubles So here I am nurturing the little hope I have left. Maybe one day I will be more than just a tool. Maybe one day you will see me. Smile at me, maybe a subtle wave, A hand held firmly with love. When I hope I can't help but let out a little smile, Even though I can only imagine. I know there is someone who sees me, Smiles at me, values me, Meticulously care for everything about me.
