unpopular opinion maybe: I didn't love The Alchemist. everyone told me it would change my life. a shepherd boy, a dream, a treasure, following your "personal legend". it's short, it's pretty, it reads like a fairy tale. but halfway through it started feeling like a motivational poster that turned into a book. that said, one line stuck with me anyway, the one about the whole universe helping you once you really want something. I don't believe it. but I kind of want to. read it on a sunday, judge for yourself.

Atomic Habits by James Clear. the quick version: 👍 actually practical. small changes, 1% better every day, make the good habit easy and the bad one annoying 👍 short chapters, easy to read on the train 👎 could've been half as long, he repeats himself a lot 👎 if you've read any productivity stuff before, some of it feels familiar still changed one thing for me: I put my phone in another room at night now. sleeping way better. worth it if you've never read a book like this. skip it if you've read ten.
Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. it's told by a robot who's bought as a companion for a sick girl. sounds cold. it isn't. quiet book. nothing explodes. but Klara looks at humans so carefully and so kindly that you start seeing yourself a bit through her eyes, and it's not always comfortable. finished it at 1am and just sat there for a while.
finally read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and I get the hype now. a guy wakes up alone on a spaceship. no memory of who he is or why he's there. that's all I'll say, going in blind is half the fun. it's basically The Martian again: science problems solved with duct tape logic and bad jokes. but this one has way more heart. there's a friendship in it that got me way more than I expected from a sci-fi book. the science gets a bit much in places, I skimmed a page or two. didn't matter. 9/10. read it before the movie ruins it for you.

3 bunny facts nobody asked for but you're getting anyway 🐰 1. when bunnies are really happy, they jump in the air and twist their body. it's called a "binky". yes, that's the official word. 2. their teeth never stop growing. ever. imagine. 3. they can see almost all the way around themselves without turning their head. except right in front of their nose. so they can see you coming from behind, but not the carrot right in front of them. today's goal: be as happy as a bunny doing a binky.
it's tuesday night and I need something good before bed. drop the one song that never fails to lift your mood. no explanation needed, just the song. I'll start: Mr. Blue Sky. every single time.
End-to-end encryption is coming tomorrow 🔒 A huge upgrade for your direct messages lands on tellmelo tomorrow. How it works - Your key is created on your device. Your messages get locked there before they ever leave your phone or browser. - On our server they're just scrambled data. Not even we can read them. - You protect everything with a 6-digit PIN. Without it, nobody gets in, us included. What you get - It's optional. Turn it on whenever you want. - In the apps your device remembers it. In the browser you choose: every time, 7 days or 30 days. - Push notifications only say "New message", never the content. - Your chat partner hasn't turned it on yet? Send them an invite with one tap. - Want only encrypted chats? You can choose to only receive messages from people who use it too. For now this covers text messages. Reporting a message still works: in that case you deliberately send us the text yourself.
